PROF. MUNGO WILSON
Mungo Wilson is Professor of Financial Economics, Saïd Business School, University of Oxford.
After studying at Oxford, Mungo qualified and practiced as a lawyer at Slaughter and May in the City of London, before studying for an MSc. in economics at the London School of Economics and a PhD in economics at Harvard University. He also worked as a junior professor at Hong Kong University of Science & Technology and the London School of Economics.
Professor Wilson is a director of Edinburgh Worldwide Investment Trust, a listed investment fund based on Edinburgh and managed by Baillie Gifford, Embedded Insurance Inc., a US insuretech business, Carbon Insurance Inc., a specialist carbon credit insurer, and Neorisk Reap Asia, a Hong Kong-based hedge fund.
At Oxford he teaches MBAs, EMBAs, doctoral students and Master's students, on finance, economics, and the statistics of identifying causal relationships in data. His research is on the determinants of risk and return in asset markets and the economic origins of inequality concerns.
